During a general advising session, you’ll have the chance to:
- Learn about different program options and how they can align with your academic goals

- Get a clear overview of eligibility requirements, the application process, housing options, passport and visa requirements, and more
- Understand key logistics like passports and visas

Program-Specific Advising
Already have a destination or program in mind? Program-specific advising sessions are designed for students who are further along in the planning process and want to explore their chosen program more in-depth.
In these sessions, a Study Abroad Advisor will walk you through key components such as:
- Program costs and budgeting tips
- Housing options and what to expect
- Available courses and how they may fulfill degree requirements
- The program structure and learning environment
- What life will be like in your host country
To schedule your session, please review the advisor portfolios below and select the appropriate Study Abroad Advisor based on your destination. Be sure to check the appointment type to ensure you're booking a program-specific advising session. Navigate.
Faculty-Led Advising
If you are planning to participate in a faculty-led program—a program led by a Loyola faculty member—please schedule this type of advising appointment with the program advisor. Advisors can help prepare you for travel to your host country, assist with completing the application requirements, and offer guidance on arranging necessary accommodations. For questions related to academics, we recommend connecting with the faculty leader teaching the course to learn more.
Pre-Departure, While Abroad, Returnee Advising
Whether you’re preparing to go, currently abroad, or recently returned, our Study Abroad Advisors are here to support you at every stage.
- Pre-Departure: Accepted into a program and wondering what’s next? We’ll help you navigate logistics, course registrations and the course approval process, and answer any last-minute questions.
- While Abroad: Need support while overseas? Advisors are available for virtual appointments to assist with cultural adjustment, academic concerns, or connecting you with in-country resources.
- Returnees: Just got back and want to go abroad again or stay connected to the global community? Let’s talk about next steps, re-entry, and continued international engagement.
